Variable Data Postcards

For this project, I designed a hypothetical postcard mailer that incorporated variable data to create more personalized content for each recipient. I began with data in Excel which I then used boolean statements to tell Excel which photo or text block needed to appear under different conditions. I then used InDesign's data merge function to implement the data into my mailer design. The postcard changes text and images based on the person's name, what region they live in, their purchase history, and their age, giving me six variations within one InDesign file. The postcard was then printed and trimmed down.
